Message from the President

June 2024 – Bremerton, WA

Esteemed Members,

Back in March, Chapter 14 sent five representatives to the FMA National Convention. We met with ten of the 12 Washington Congressional Reps. As a Chapter, we highlighted several topics and focus points for our meetings, including the discussion on the FERS deposit buyback, passing the Appropriations bills in a timely manner, and protecting federal employees’ compensation, health, and retirement benefits.

Nominations for the 2024-2025 Executive Board is complete and we have a full E-Board (15 positions) with a couple of fresh faces as Trustees. Please welcome Kristen Marion and Kate Davis to the E-Board! We look forward to serving you in this upcoming term and value your membership, enthusiasm, and engagement. We sunset this year with our last dinner of the year, June 11, 2024, at the Marvin Williams Recreation Center. We announced the FMA Chapter 14 scholarship selectees and swore in the new 2024-2025 Executive board. For the summer, the new E-board has been working in the background, planning the upcoming season for dinner, special guests, and our Sept. 7th, 24th Annual Golf Tournament. Please watch out for announcement for future activities and our upcoming events.

Are you thinking about retiring? December and June are when we lose most members, and we do not know when people are retiring. We, as an association, are willing to reduce your one-time fee of $250 to $150 so you can become a lifetime FMA Chapter member when you retire. Please help share the word and let us know if you need any other information.

We look forward to serving you in this upcoming term and value your membership, enthusiasm, and engagement.

No Bad Day

James Cappa FMA Chapter 14 President
