Born in Norfolk, VA, both of my grandfathers were career Navy and were stationed in Norfolk, Virginia at the time my parents met. I am the middle child with an older and a younger brother. We resided in Williamsburg, VA until I was 12 years old from which I have many fond memories of spending time with my mother and older brother in Colonial Williamsburg where my dad worked as a barber on Duke of Gloucester Street.
We moved to Gloucester, Virginia in 1975 where I later graduated from Gloucester High in 1984. I held a few jobs in my teenage years but one job in particular that captivated me was working at an embroidery factory making American Flags in the summer of 1984. While working there, I applied for employment at Newport News Shipbuilding and later was called to report and thus my pipefitting career began. I was employed as a pipefitter at Newport News Shipbuilding for 17 years before applying and accepting a position of the same trade at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. My nine years of employment for NNSY ended after a TDY trip to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in 2009. I fell in love with the beauty of the Pacific North West and therefore expressed my intentions to my PSNS supervisor at the time to become an employee of PSNS. After a year of impatiently waiting to hear word of acceptance from my application, I was given a start date by PSNS of June 26, 2010.
In 2015 I remarried. My family now includes my beautiful wife Courtney, our son Aspen, my stepdaughters Caydence and Rileanne, my daughter Jessica from a previous marriage, her daughter-my granddaughter Scout, and our dog Rhino.
